1. ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੇ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ।

1. then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy.

4. ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਹੈ।

4. blameworthy is once more proved a disgrace to humanity.

5. ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਝੂਠੀ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਨਾ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ ਹੈ।

5. to argue falsely in matters of religion is blameworthy.

6. ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

6. save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy.

7. ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ;

7. except from their spouses or their slave women, for then they are not blameworthy;

8. ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ;

8. apart from their spouses and their slave women, for then they are not blameworthy;

9. ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ।

9. so we took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.

10. so we took him and his hosts and discarded them in the sea while he was blameworthy.".

11. ਸਿਵਾਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

11. except from their wives or the whom their right hands possess- for they are not blameworthy.

12. ਸਿਵਾਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਜੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿੱਚ: ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

12. save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy.

13. ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੱਜੀ ਬਾਂਹ ਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

13. save from their wives or those whom their right hands own, for then they surely are not blameworthy.

14. ਸਿਵਾਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

14. save from their wives or the(slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy.

15. ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ (ਇੱਕ ਵਿਰਾਮ ਜਾਂ ਹੱਸਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ) 70 ਤੋਂ 90 ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

15. But when I ask how many are treated as blameworthy, they say (after a pause or a laugh) 70 to 90 percent.

16. ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਅਸਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਅਪੂਰਣਤਾ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ, ਅਵਾਸਤਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ।

16. remember that man's perfection is real and unimpeachable, whereas imperfection is blameworthy, unreal, and is not brought about by divine love.

17. ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸੰਪੂਰਨਤਾ ਅਸਲ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਅਪੂਰਣਤਾ ਨਿੰਦਣਯੋਗ, ਅਵਾਸਤਕ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ।

17. remember that man's perfection is real and unimpeachable, whereas imperfection is blameworthy, unreal, and is not brought about by divine love.

18. ਕੇਵਲ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਭਟਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੱਦ 'ਤੇ "ਗੁੱਸੇ" ਜਾਂ ਦੂਜੇ 'ਤੇ "ਬੇਸਮਝ"।

18. it is only if he deviates more markedly from the mean with respect to anger that he becomes blameworthy, either‘irascible' at one extreme or‘lacking in spirit' at the other.
