1. he spoke without rancour

2. यदि कोई दुष्टता और अन्याय करेगा, तो हम उसे शीघ्र ही आग में झोंक देंगे: और यह अल्लाह के लिए सहज है।

2. if any do that in rancour and injustice,- soon shall we cast them into the fire: and easy it is for allah.

3. हम उनका सब प्रकार का विद्वेष दूर करेंगे, जो उनके सीनों में है; वे आमने-सामने बिछौने पर बैठे भाइयों के समान होंगे;

3. we shall strip away all rancour that is in their breasts; as brothers they shall be upon couches set face to face;

4. तुम उनमें से बहुतों को पाप और विद्वेष, और उनके वर्जित वस्तुओं के भोजन में एक दूसरे के साथ प्रतिस्पर्धा करते हुए देखते हो। वे जो काम करते हैं, वे वाकई बहुत बुरे हैं।

4. many of them dost thou see, racing each other in sin and rancour, and their eating of things forbidden. evil indeed are the things that they do.

5. यह अहिंसा की अग्निपरीक्षा है कि अहिंसक संघर्ष में आक्रोश नहीं होता और अंत में शत्रु मित्र बन जाते हैं।

5. it is the acid test of non-violence that in a non-violent conflict there is no rancour left behind and, in the end, the enemies are converted into friends.

6. दया यह समझना संभव बनाती है कि हिंसा, आक्रोश, बदला का कोई मतलब नहीं है, और पहला शिकार वह है जो इन भावनाओं का अनुभव करता है, क्योंकि वह खुद को अपनी गरिमा से वंचित करता है।

6. mercy enables us to understand that violence, rancour, vengefulness have no meaning, and the first victim is whoever feels these sentiments, because he deprives himself of his own dignity.

7. और जो उनके बाद (ईमान से) आए, वे कहते हैं: ऐ हमारे रब! हमें और हमारे भाइयों को जो विश्वास में हमारे आगे-आगे चले गए हैं, क्षमा कर, और हमारे मन में ईमान लानेवालों के प्रति कोई द्वेष न पैदा करो। हमारे प्रभु! आप धर्मपरायण, दयालु हैं।

7. and those who came(into the faith) after them say: our lord! forgive us and our brethren who were before us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who believe. our lord! thou art full of pity, merciful.

8. और [के लिए भी] जो उनके बाद आए, जो कहते हैं: "हे हमारे प्रभु, हमें और हमारे भाइयों को क्षमा कर, जो विश्वास में हमारे अग्रदूत रहे हैं, और हमारे दिलों में ईमान वालों के प्रति द्वेष न रखें। हमारे भगवान, आप वास्तव में बहुत अच्छे और दयालु हैं।

8. and[also for] those who came in after them, who say,‘our lord, forgive us and our brethren who were our forerunners in the faith, and do not put any rancour in our hearts toward the faithful. our lord, you are indeed most kind and merciful.

9. और यह उन लोगों के कारण भी है जो उनके पीछे यह कहते हुए आए: “ऐ हमारे रब! हमें और हमारे भाइयों को जो विश्वास में हमारे आगे-आगे चले गए हैं, क्षमा कर, और हमारे मन में ईमान लानेवालों के प्रति कोई द्वेष न पैदा करो। हमारे प्रभु! वास्तव में आप कोमल, दयालु हैं।

9. and it is also due unto those who came after them, saying:'our lord! forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in the faith, and place not in our hearts any rancour toward those who had believed. our lord! verily thou art tender, merciful.

10. और जो उनके पीछे हो गए, वे कहते हैं, "ऐ हमारे रब, हमें और हमारे उन भाइयों को भी जो ईमान में हमसे पहिले थे, माफ़ कर, और हमारे दिलों में ईमान लानेवालों से कोई दुश्मनी न रख।" हमारे प्रभु, आप निश्चित रूप से सर्व-सौम्य, सर्व-दयालु हैं।

10. and as for those who came after them, they say,'our lord, forgive us and our brothers, who preceded us in belief, and put thou not into our hearts any rancour towards those who believe. our lord, surely thou art the all-gentle, the all-compassionate.

11. और यह उन लोगों का भी है जो उनके बाद आए, और जो प्रार्थना करते हैं: "हे प्रभु, हमें और हमारे भाइयों को जो विश्वास में हमसे पहले थे, क्षमा करें, और हमारे दिलों में विश्वास करने वालों के प्रति कोई द्वेष न रखें।" भगवान, आप सबसे कोमल, सबसे दयालु हैं।

11. and it also belongs to those who came after them, and who pray:“lord, forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in faith, and do not put in our hearts any rancour towards those who believe. lord, you are the most tender, the most compassionate.”.
