6. and certainly we gave to ibrahim his rectitude before, and we knew him fully well.

7. hence he aspired after rectitude, and was anxious to possess every moral perfection.

9. and assuredly we vouchsafed un to lbrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him we had ever known.

10. ആ വിശ്വാസി പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ ജനമേ, എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ നീതിയുടെ പാതയിലേക്ക് നയിക്കും.

10. the person endowed with faith said:“my people, follow me; i shall direct you to the path of rectitude.

11. ഞങ്ങളിൽ ചിലർ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങളിൽ ചിലർ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിഞ്ഞു. കീഴടങ്ങിയവർ നീതി തേടി;

11. and some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. those who have surrendered sought rectitude;

12. നീതിയിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുന്നവൻ. അതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിച്ചു.

12. which guides to rectitude. hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our lord.

13. നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകളായി നമ്മെ നയിക്കുന്ന ധാർമ്മികവും ധാർമ്മികവുമായ കൃത്യതയുടെ പാത പിന്തുടരാൻ നമ്മൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നു.

13. let each one of us resolve to follow the path of moral and ethical rectitude which has guided us for centuries.

14. ഞങ്ങളിൽ ചിലർ മുസ്ലീങ്ങളും ചിലർ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുമാണ്. [അല്ലാഹുവിന്] കീഴടങ്ങുന്നവർ നീതി തേടുന്നവരാണ്.

14. among us some are muslims and some of us are perverse.”' those who submit[to allah]-it is they who pursue rectitude.

15. ഭൂമിയിലുള്ളവരെ തിന്മ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നോ അതോ അവരുടെ രക്ഷിതാവ് അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി നീതി നടപ്പാക്കാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചിരുന്നോ എന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾക്കറിയില്ല.

15. and that we do not know whether ill was intended for whoever is on earth, or whether their lord intended rectitude for them;

16. നമുക്കിടയിൽ ചിലർ മുസ്ലീങ്ങളും, നമ്മിൽ ചിലർ വ്യതിചലിക്കുന്നവരുമാണ്. അതിനാൽ ഇസ്‌ലാം ആശ്ലേഷിച്ചവർ നീതിയുടെ പാത പിന്തുടരാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

16. and of us some are muslims, and of us some are deviators. then whosoever hath embraced islam- such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude.

17. no compulsion is there in religion. rectitude has become clear from error. so whosoever disbelieves in idols and believes in god, has laid hold of the most firm handle, unbreaking; god is all-hearing, all-knowing.

18. മതത്തിൽ യാതൊരു നിയന്ത്രണവുമില്ല: ശരി തെറ്റിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തമായി. അതിനാൽ വ്യാജദൈവങ്ങളെ നിരാകരിക്കുകയും അല്ലാഹുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ തകർക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഏറ്റവും ശക്തമായ കൈപ്പിടിയിൽ മുറുകെ പിടിക്കുന്നു. അല്ലാഹു സർവ്വജ്ഞനും സർവ്വജ്ഞനുമാണ്.

18. there is no compulsion in religion: rectitude has become distinct from error. so one who disavows fake deities and has faith in allah has held fast to the firmest handle for which there is no breaking; and allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

19. സർവ്വകലാശാലാ വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളുടെ ആശയങ്ങളും ആവിഷ്കാരങ്ങളും സത്യത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നടത്താനും അവരുടെ കടമകളുടെ നിർവ്വഹണത്തിൽ സത്യസന്ധതയോടും കൃത്യതയോടും കൂടി പ്രവർത്തിക്കാനുമുള്ള പ്രതിബദ്ധത, അത് സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ വിഭവങ്ങളുടെ ശരിയായ ഉപയോഗത്തിലും പരിചരണത്തിലും പ്രകടമാണ്.

19. commitment of the university students to conduct themselves in their ideas and expressions based on the truth, and act with rectitude and probity in the exercise of their functions, which is also expressed in the proper use and care of the resources of the institution.

20. no constraint is there in the religion; surely rectitude hath become manifestly distinguished from the error. whosoever then disbelieveth in the devil and believeth in allah, hath of a surety rain hold of the firm cable whereof there is no giving way. and allah is hearing, knowing.
