6. and certainly we gave to ibrahim his rectitude before, and we knew him fully well.

7. hence he aspired after rectitude, and was anxious to possess every moral perfection.

8. and he who had faith said,‘o my people! follow me; i will guide you to the way of rectitude.

9. and assuredly we vouchsafed un to lbrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him we had ever known.

10. the person endowed with faith said:“my people, follow me; i shall direct you to the path of rectitude.

11. और हम में से कितनों ने हार मान ली है, और हम में से कितने भटक गए हैं। आत्मसमर्पण करने वालों ने न्याय मांगा;

11. and some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. those who have surrendered sought rectitude;

12. जो न्याय की ओर ले जाता है। इसलिथे हम ने उस पर विश्वास किया, और अपके प्रभु का कोई साझी न ठहराएंगे।

12. which guides to rectitude. hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our lord.

13. कि हम में से प्रत्येक उस नैतिक और नैतिक सत्यता के मार्ग का अनुसरण करने का निर्णय लेता है जिसने हमें सदियों से निर्देशित किया है।

13. let each one of us resolve to follow the path of moral and ethical rectitude which has guided us for centuries.

14. हममें से कुछ मुसलमान हैं और कुछ दुष्ट। जो लोग [अल्लाह के लिए] झुकते हैं वे न्याय चाहते हैं।

14. among us some are muslims and some of us are perverse.”' those who submit[to allah]-it is they who pursue rectitude.

15. और यह कि हम नहीं जानते, कि क्या पृथ्वी पर रहनेवालोंके लिथे विपत्ति हुई, वा उनके स्वामी ने उन के लिथे न्याय की इच्छा की थी;

15. and that we do not know whether ill was intended for whoever is on earth, or whether their lord intended rectitude for them;

16. और हम में से कुछ मुसलमान हैं, और हम में से कुछ भटके हुए हैं। इस प्रकार जिसने भी इस्लाम धर्म ग्रहण किया है, उसने धार्मिकता के मार्ग पर चलने का प्रयास किया है।

16. and of us some are muslims, and of us some are deviators. then whosoever hath embraced islam- such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude.

17. धर्म में कोई बाध्यता नहीं है। न्याय त्रुटि से निकला है। इस प्रकार वह जो मूर्तियों में विश्वास नहीं करता है और ईश्वर में विश्वास करता है, उसने सबसे मजबूत और सबसे अटूट संभाल लिया है; भगवान सब कुछ सुनता है, सब कुछ जानता है।

17. no compulsion is there in religion. rectitude has become clear from error. so whosoever disbelieves in idols and believes in god, has laid hold of the most firm handle, unbreaking; god is all-hearing, all-knowing.

18. there is no compulsion in religion: rectitude has become distinct from error. so one who disavows fake deities and has faith in allah has held fast to the firmest handle for which there is no breaking; and allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

19. commitment of the university students to conduct themselves in their ideas and expressions based on the truth, and act with rectitude and probity in the exercise of their functions, which is also expressed in the proper use and care of the resources of the institution.

20. no constraint is there in the religion; surely rectitude hath become manifestly distinguished from the error. whosoever then disbelieveth in the devil and believeth in allah, hath of a surety rain hold of the firm cable whereof there is no giving way. and allah is hearing, knowing.
