1. ചിലർ താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുകയും മറ്റു ചിലർ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

1. some shall be abased and others exalted.

2. തീർച്ചയായും, രാജാക്കന്മാർ ഒരു നഗരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവർ അത് നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും അവരുടെ ജനങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ശക്തരായവരെ ഏറ്റവും താഴ്മയുള്ളവരാക്കി മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

2. indeed when kings enter a town, they devastate it, and reduce the mightiest of its people to the most abased.

3. ഞങ്ങൾ അവരെ ശിക്ഷയോടെ പിടികൂടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്, എന്നാൽ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനനോടു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ താഴ്ത്തുകയോ താഴ്മ കാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തില്ല.

3. we already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their lord nor were they humble;

4. ഭൂമിയിൽ വിനയാന്വിതരായവരോട് കരുണ കാണിക്കാനും അവരെ ഇമാമാക്കാനും അവരെ അനന്തരാവകാശികളാക്കാനും ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

4. and we desired to show favour to those who were abased in the land, and to make them imams, and to make them the heirs.

5. നിങ്ങളുടെ യജമാനൻ പറഞ്ഞു, "എന്നോട് പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാർത്ഥന സ്വീകരിക്കും. എന്നെ ആരാധിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നവർ തീർത്തും അപമാനിതരായി നരകത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കും.

5. your lord said:“pray to me, and i will accept your prayers. surely those who wax too proud to worship me shall enter hell, utterly abased.”.

6. തീർച്ചയായും അല്ലാഹുവിനെയും അവന്റെ ദൂതനെയും എതിർക്കുന്നവർ അവരുടെ മുമ്പുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ അപമാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്. തീർച്ചയായും നാം വ്യക്തമായ ദൃഷ്ടാന്തങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സത്യനിഷേധികൾക്ക് അത് നിന്ദ്യമായ ശിക്ഷയായിരിക്കും.

6. verily those who oppose allah and his apostle shall be abased even as those before them were abased; and of a surety we have sent down manifest signs. and for the infidels will be a torment ignominious.
