1. ہمیں اس کی سخاوت کے لیے شکر گزار ہونا چاہیے۔

2. you are not insane, by the munificence of your lord.

3. یہ اللہ کا فضل ہے کہ وہ جسے چاہے دے سکتا ہے۔ اور اللہ بڑا مہربان ہے۔

5. پھر جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کیے وہ ان کی اجرت پوری دے گا اور ان کے احسان کے بدلے اور زیادہ دے گا۔

5. then to those who believed and did good deeds, he will pay their wages in full and by his munificence, give them more;

6. وہ اللہ کی نعمتوں اور (اس کے) فضل پر خوش ہوتے ہیں، اور اللہ مومنوں کے اجر کو ضائع نہ کرے۔

6. they rejoice because of the favours from allah and(his) munificence, and because allah does not waste the reward of the believers.

7. تمہارا مالک وہ ہے جو تمہارے لیے سمندروں میں کشتی چلاتا ہے، تاکہ تم اس کی بھلائی تلاش کرو۔ درحقیقت وہ تم پر بہت مہربان ہے۔

7. your lord is he who sails the ship upon the seas for you, so that you may seek his munificence; indeed he is most merciful upon you.

8. اپنے رب کی رحمت کو محفوظ رکھ بے شک اس کا فضل آپ پر (اے پیارے نبی محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) بہت بڑا ہے۔

8. except the mercy of your lord; indeed his munificence upon you(o dear prophet mohammed- peace and blessings be upon him) is extremely great.

9. اور جب نماز ختم ہو جائے تو زمین پر پھیل جاؤ اور اللہ کا فضل تلاش کرو اور اللہ کو کثرت سے یاد کرو، کامیابی کی امید میں۔

9. and when the prayer ends, spread out in the land and seek allah's munificence, and profusely remember allah, in the hope of attaining success.

10. اور اگر تم پر اللہ کی بھلائی اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی اور اللہ توبہ قبول کرنے والا حکمت والا ہے تو وہ تمہیں دریافت کر لیتا۔

10. and were it not for allah's munificence and his mercy upon you and that allah is the acceptor of repentance, the wise- he would then have unveiled you.

11. لہٰذا (اے پیارے نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) روشن کر دیں، کیونکہ اپنے رب کے فضل سے آپ نہ تو فال گو ہیں اور نہ ہی احمق۔

11. therefore(o dear prophet mohammed- peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman.

12. پس وہ اللہ کے فضل اور فضل کے ساتھ لوٹے کہ ان پر کوئی برائی نہ پڑی۔ انہوں نے اس چیز کی پیروی کی جس سے اللہ راضی تھا۔ اور اللہ بڑا مہربان ہے۔

12. so they returned with the favour and munificence from allah, in that no harm reached them; they followed what pleased allah; and allah is extremely munificent.

13. اس طرح وہ اللہ کے فضل و کرم کے ساتھ واپس لوٹے، ان پر کوئی نقصان نہیں ہوا۔ انہوں نے اس چیز کی پیروی کی جو اللہ کو پسند تھی۔ اور اللہ بڑا مہربان ہے۔

13. so they returned with the favour and munificence from allah, in that no harm reached them; they followed what pleased allah; and allah is extremely munificent.

14. پس جو لوگ اللہ پر ایمان لائے اور اس کی رسی سے چمٹے رہے وہ انہیں اپنی رحمت اور فضل میں داخل کرے گا اور انہیں اپنی طرف سیدھی راہ دکھائے گا۔

14. so those who believed in allah and held fast to his rope- he will admit them into his mercy and munificence, and will guide on the straight path towards himself.

15. اور وہ ان لوگوں کی دعاؤں کو قبول کرتا ہے جو ایمان لاتے ہیں اور نیک عمل کرتے ہیں، اور انہیں ان کی سخاوت کا زیادہ اجر دیتا ہے۔ اور کافروں کے لیے سخت عذاب ہے۔

15. and he accepts the prayers of those who accept faith and do good deeds, and gives them a greater reward by his munificence; and for the disbelievers is a severe punishment.

16. اور وہی ہے جس نے سمندر کو تمہارے لیے مسخر کیا تاکہ تم اس سے تازہ گوشت کھاؤ اور اس سے وہ زیور نکالو جو تم پہنتے ہو۔ اور تم دیکھتے ہو کہ کشتیاں اسے کھول رہی ہیں اور تم اس کا فضل تلاش کرنے اور اس کا شکر ادا کرنے کے لیے۔

16. and it is he who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek his munificence and that you may give thanks.

17. یہ اس لیے ہے کہ جن لوگوں کو کتابیں ملی ہیں ان میں سے کافر جان لیں کہ اللہ کے فضل پر ان کا کوئی اختیار نہیں ہے، اور یہ کہ فضل اللہ کے ہاتھ میں ہے، وہ جسے چاہتا ہے عطا کرتا ہے۔ اور اللہ بڑا مہربان ہے۔

17. this is so that the disbelievers among people given the book(s) may know that they do not have any control over allah's munificence, and that the munificence is in allah's hand(control)- he bestows to whomever he wills; and allah is extremely munificent.

18. کیا ہی اچھا ہوتا اگر وہ اس پر راضی ہو جاتے جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول نے انہیں دیا تھا اور کہتے کہ ہمارے لیے اللہ کافی ہے۔ اب اللہ اپنے فضل سے ہمیں عطا فرمائے گا اور (اسی طرح) اللہ کے رسول ہیں، اور ہم صرف اللہ ہی کے آگے جھکتے ہیں۔

18. how excellent it would be, if they were pleased with what allah and his noble messenger had given them and said,“allah suffices us; allah will now give us by his munificence, and(so will) allah's noble messenger- and towards allah only are we inclined.”.

19. پنک جنگوں اور کینی کی جنگ (216 قبل مسیح) میں روم کی قریب المناک شکست کا سیاق و سباق ان ابتدائی کھیلوں کو عافیت، فوجی فتح کا جشن، اور فوجی تباہی کے مذہبی کفارے سے جوڑتا ہے۔ یہ منیرا فوجی خطرے اور توسیع کے وقت حوصلے بڑھانے والے پروگرام کے طور پر کام کرتے دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔

19. the context of the punic wars and rome's near-disastrous defeat at the battle of cannae(216 bc) link these early games to munificence, the celebration of military victory and the religious expiation of military disaster; these munera appear to serve a morale-raising agenda in an era of military threat and expansion.
