1. طعنہ دینے والے شہر کو مشتعل کرتے ہیں، لیکن عقلمند غصے کو ہٹا دیتا ہے۔

1. mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.

2. پہلے یہ جان کر کہ آخری دنوں میں ٹھٹھا کرنے والے آئیں گے اور اپنی خواہشات کے پیچھے چلیں گے۔

2. knowing this first, that in the last days mockers will come, walking after their own lusts.

3. انہیں بتایا گیا تھا کہ آخری دنوں میں ایسے ٹھٹھا کرنے والے ہوں گے جو اپنی بے دینی خواہشات کے پیچھے ہوں گے۔

3. they told you there would be mockers in the last days who would walk after their own ungodly lusts.

4. اُنہوں نے اُن سے کہا کہ ”آخری دنوں میں ٹھٹھا کرنے والے ہوں گے، جو اپنی بے دینی خواہشات کے پیچھے چلیں گے۔

14. لہٰذا اب اپنا مذاق نہ اُڑاؤ، ورنہ تمہارے بندھن مضبوط ہو جائیں گے۔ کیونکہ مَیں نے ربُّ الافواج کے خُدا سے تمام زمِین پر تباہی کی خبر سُنی ہے۔

15. اور جب وہ ایمان والوں سے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے۔ لیکن جب آپ اپنے شریروں کے ساتھ اکیلے ہوتے ہیں، تو کہتے ہیں، 'واقعی ہم آپ کے ساتھ ہیں۔ ہم صرف طعنہ زنی کرنے والے تھے۔

15. and when they meet those who believe, they say,"we believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say,"indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers.

16. اِس سب سے پہلے جان لو کہ آخری دنوں میں ٹھٹھا کرنے والے اپنی خواہشات کی پیروی کرتے ہوئے مذاق اُڑائیں گے 4 اور کہیں گے کہ اُس کے آنے کا وعدہ کہاں ہے؟

16. know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with[their] mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying,“where is the promise of his coming?

17. اور تم سے پہلے کے رسولوں کا بھی مذاق اڑایا گیا ہے۔ اس لیے میں نے طعنہ زنی کرنے والوں کو کچھ دن کا وقفہ دیا، پھر پکڑ لیا۔ پھر میری سزا کیسی ہولناک تھی!

17. and indeed the noble messengers before you were also mocked- i therefore gave the mockers respite for some days and then seized them; so how(dreadful) was my punishment!
