7. അവൻ (സ്വന്തം) ആഗ്രഹത്തെപ്പറ്റി പറയുന്നില്ല.

7. nor doth he speak of(his own) desire.

8. അവൾ മരിക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്താമത്തെവളും അങ്ങനെതന്നെ ചെയ്യും.

8. So shall the tenth when she doth die.

9. പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നു?

9. And why doth he therefore give thanks?

10. സത്യം വളരുന്ന വൃക്ഷം ഇതാ,

10. Here is the tree where truth doth grow,

11. എന്നാൽ അല്ലാഹു അവരെ പിന്നിൽ നിന്ന് വലയം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

11. but allah doth encompass them from behind!

12. പിന്നീട് അതിനെ തവിട്ട് നിറമുള്ള കുറ്റിയായി മാറ്റുന്നു.

12. and then doth make it(but) swarthy stubble.

13. എന്നോടുകൂടെ എടുക്കാത്തവൻ ചിതറിപ്പോകുന്നു.

13. and he who doth not gather with me scattered!

14. കൃതജ്ഞത കാണിക്കുന്നവരെ അല്ലാഹു നന്നായി അറിയുന്നില്ലേ?

14. doth not god know best those who are grateful?

15. എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യവർഗ്ഗം അത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങൾ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ല;

15. and whereas mankind doth not teach such things;

16. വിശപ്പിനെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കുകയോ മോചിപ്പിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല.

16. which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.

17. നന്ദികാണിക്കുന്നവരെ അല്ലാഹു നന്നായി അറിയുന്നില്ലേ?

17. Doth not Allah know best those who are grateful?

18. അവൻ എന്റെ വഴികളെ കാണുന്നില്ലയോ? എന്റെ കാലടികളെ ഒക്കെയും അവൻ എണ്ണുന്നില്ലയോ?

18. doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?

19. പിന്നെ എന്തിനാണ് അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾക്കു നിങ്ങളെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്?

19. say: why then doth he chastise you for your sins?

20. നിന്റെ അമ്മയെക്കാൾ അവൻ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും."

20. And he shall love thee more than thy mother doth."
