5. bethink they that we hear not their secrets and whispers? yea! we do, and our messengers present with them write down.

6. say thou: bethink ye! if it is really from allah and then ye disbelieve therein, then who is further astray than one who is in schism far-off?

7. क्या वे नहीं जानते कि अल्लाह जिसने आसमानों और ज़मीन को पैदा किया और उन्हें पैदा करते नहीं थके, वह मुर्दों को ज़िंदा कर सकता है? हां! सच में वह सर्वशक्तिमान से ऊपर है।

7. bethink they not that allah who created the heavens and the earth and was not fatigued with the creation thereof, is able to quicken the dead? aye! verily he is over everything potent.

8. उसने बोला; हे मेरे लोगों! क्या तुम समझते हो कि यदि मैं अपने रब के प्रमाण पर भरोसा करता हूँ और वह मुझ पर दया करता है, तो अल्लाह के विरुद्ध कौन मेरी सहायता करेगा, यदि मैं उसकी अवज्ञा करूँ? तब तू मेरी बड़ाई करता है, हानि पर नहीं बचा।

8. he said; o my people! bethink if i rest on an evidence from my lord, and there hath come to me from him a mercy, then who will succour me against allah, if i disobey him? ye then increase me not save in loss.

9. उसने कहा: ऐ मेरे लोगों! ज़रा सोचिए: अगर मैं अपने रब की ओर से स्पष्ट सबूत पर काम करता हूँ और मुझ पर दया आ गई है, तो अगर मैं उसकी अवज्ञा करूँ तो मुझे अल्लाह से कौन बचाएगा? तुम मेरे लिए विनाश के अलावा कुछ नहीं जोड़ोगे।

9. he said: o my people! bethink you: if i am(acting) on clear proof from my lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from him, who will save me from allah if i disobey him? ye would add to me naught save perdition.

10. उसने कहा: सोचो, हे मेरे लोगों! यदि मैं ने अपके प्रभु की किसी बात पर भरोसा किया है, और उस की ओर से मुझ पर अनुग्रह हुआ है, और वह तुझ पर छाया हुआ है, तो क्या हम तुझे उस में लगे रहें, और तू ऐसा न करे?

10. he said: bethink ye, o my people! if i rested upon an evidence from my lord, and a mercy hath come unto me from him, and that hath been obscured unto you, shall we make you adhere to it while ye are averse thereto?

11. कहो: सोचो कि अल्लाह ने तुम्हें एक प्रावधान के रूप में क्या भेजा, और फिर तुमने इसे अनुमेय और निषिद्ध बना दिया? कहो: क्या अल्लाह ने तुम्हें इजाज़त दी है, या तुम अल्लाह के ख़िलाफ़ झूठ गढ़ रहे हो?

11. say thou: bethink ye of that which allah hath sent down unto you of provision, and ye have then made thereof allowable and forbidden? say thou: is it that allah hath given you leave, or fabricate ye a lie against allah?

12. उस ने कहा, हे मेरे लोगों; ज़रा सोचिए, अगर मुझे अपने रब की ओर से किसी स्पष्ट प्रमाण पर भरोसा है और उसकी ओर से मुझे कोई इनाम मिला है और यह आपके लिए अंधेरा है, तो क्या हम आपको इसे स्वीकार करने के लिए मजबूर कर दें, जब आप इसे नहीं चाहते हैं? (11:28))।

12. he said, o my people; bethink you, if i rely on a clear proof from my lord and there hath come unto me a bounty from him and it is obscure from you, should we compel you to accept it when you are averse there-to?"(11:28).

13. उसने कहा: ऐ मेरे लोगों! इसके बारे में सोचो, अगर मुझे अपने भगवान से एक स्पष्ट सबूत पर भरोसा है और आपकी उपस्थिति से मुझ पर दया आई है, और यह आपके लिए अंधेरा हो गया है, तो क्या हम आपको इसे स्वीकार करने के लिए मजबूर कर सकते हैं क्योंकि आप इसके खिलाफ हैं?

13. he said: o my people! bethink you, if i rely on a clear proof from my lord and there hath come unto me a mercy from his presence, and it hath been made obscure to you, can we compel you to accept it when ye are averse thereto?

15. यह मत सोचो कि जो वे लाए हैं उस पर आनन्दित होते हैं और जो उन्होंने नहीं किया है उसके लिए प्रशंसा करना पसंद करते हैं, यह मत सोचो कि वे पीड़ा से सुरक्षित रहेंगे! और उसकी इच्छा एक दु:खदायी पीड़ा होगी।

17. bethink you: if it is from allah and ye disbelieve therein, and a witness of the children of israel hath already testified to the like thereof and hath believed, and ye are too proud(what plight is yours)? lo! allah guideth not wrong-doing folk.

18. परन्तु यदि वे उस देश में जहां वे बन्धुआई में गए थे, स्मरण करके मन फिराएं, और बन्धुआई करनेवालोंके देश में तुझ से बिनती करें, कि हम ने पाप किया है, और हम ने बुरा किया है, तो हम ने बुराई की है;

18. yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, we have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

19. (हे मुहम्मद) उन पुराने लोगों से सावधान रहें, जो मौत के डर से हजारों की संख्या में अपने कमरे से बाहर आ गए, और जिन्हें अल्लाह ने उनसे कहा: मरो; फिर उन्हें जीवन में वापस लाया। दृश्य! अल्लाह मानव जाति के लिए दयालुता का स्वामी है, लेकिन अधिकांश मानव जाति धन्यवाद नहीं देती है।

19. bethink thee(o muhammad) of those of old, who went forth from their habitations in their thousands, fearing death, and allah said unto them: die; and then he brought them back to life. lo! allah is a lord of kindness to mankind, but most of mankind give not thanks.
