1. ਦੁੱਖ ਜਲਦੀ ਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

5. ਅਤੇ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ;

10. ਦੁੱਖ ਭੋਗਣ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ?

11. ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਦਾਊਦ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ,

11. O Lord, remember for David all his afflictions,

12. ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੀ ਭੱਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।

12. i have chosen you in the furnace of affliction.

13. ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।

13. he accomplished so much despite his affliction.

14. ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,

14. when affliction befalls man, he cries out to us,

15. ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੀ ਭੱਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।

15. i have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

16. ਦੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਕੌਣ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ?

16. who does not struggle amid the sea of affliction?

17. ਬਿਪਤਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ;

17. affliction comes to us not to make us sad but sober;

18. ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਦਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ;

18. afflictions come to us, not to make us sad but sober;

19. “ਇਹ,” ਡੇਵਿਡ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਹੈ।”

19. “This,” says David, “is my comfort in my affliction.”

20. ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
