1. رکو! نہیں، اسے جرم کا کفارہ دینا چاہیے۔

2. گناہ کا کفارہ ہو جاتا ہے اور خدا سے صلح ہو جاتی ہے۔

8. تمام دیوتاؤں کو انسانی شکل میں سنگم میں نہانے اور اپنے گناہوں کا کفارہ ادا کرنے کے لیے سمجھا جاتا ہے۔

11. کیا پیسوں سے قتل کا کفارہ دینا بُرے ذائقے کی چوٹی نہیں ہے، گویا ایک یہودی زندگی کی قیمت صرف ایک مخصوص رقم کی ہے؟

11. Is it not the summit of bad taste to expiate murder with money, as though a Jewish life is worth only a certain sum of deutschmarks?

12. اس لیے میں نے عیلی کے گھرانے سے قسم کھائی ہے کہ عیلی کے گھرانے کی بدکاری کا کفارہ ہمیشہ کے لیے قربانی یا نذرانے سے نہیں ہو گا۔

13. تاکہ اللہ ان کے لیے ان کے برے کاموں کا کفارہ دے جو انہوں نے کیے ہیں اور انھیں ان کے بہترین اعمال کے مطابق اجر عطا فرمائے۔

13. so that allah may expiate from them the evil of what they did and give them the reward, according to the best of what they used to do.}.

14. اس لیے میں نے عیلی کے گھرانے سے قسم کھائی ہے کہ عیلی کے گھرانے کی بدکرداری کا کفارہ ہمیشہ کے لیے قربانی یا قربانی سے نہیں ہوگا۔

14. and therefore i have sworn unto the house of eli, that the iniquity of eli's house shall not be expiated with sacrifice nor offering for ever.

15. sa 3:14 اِس لیے میں نے عیلی کے گھرانے سے قسم کھائی ہے کہ عیلی کے گھرانے کی بدکاری کا کفارہ ہمیشہ کے لیے قربانی یا قربانی کے ذریعے نہیں دیا جائے گا۔

16. اور تمام مال غنیمت خواہ کپڑا، شیشہ یا کوئی اور مفید چیز جو کھال سے بنی ہو یا بکری کے بالوں یا لکڑی کا۔

16. and all of the spoils, whether it is a garment, or a vessel, or another useful thing, made from the pelts or hair of goats, or from wood, shall be expiated.”.

17. پرانوں کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ پرسرام ہی تھا جس نے کیرالہ میں 64 برہمن خاندانوں کو لگایا تھا، جنہیں وہ اپنے کھشتریوں کے قتل کا کفارہ ادا کرنے کے لیے شمال سے لایا تھا۔

17. puranas say that it was parasurama who planted the 64 brahmin families in kerala, whom he brought down from the north in order to expiate his slaughter of the kshatriyas.

18. تاکہ اللہ [ان کے ایمان اور اخلاص کے ذریعے] ان کے لیے ان کے اعمال کی برائیوں کا کفارہ دے اور ان کو ان کے بہترین اعمال کے مطابق اجر عطا فرمائے۔

18. so that allah[thanks to their faith and sincerity] may expiate from them the evil of what they did and give them the reward, according to the best of what they used to do.

19. کہ اس وعدے کے ذریعے اللہ ان کے لیے ان کے برے کاموں کا کفارہ دے سکتا ہے، اور انھیں ان کی اجرت کے ساتھ ان کے بہترین کاموں کا بدلہ دے سکتا ہے۔

19. that through this promise allah may expiate from them the worst of that which they may have worked, and may recompense them their hire for the best of that which they have been working.

20. اگر تم صدقہ ظاہر کرو تو یہ اچھی بات ہے اور اگر تم اسے چھپا کر غریبوں کو دو تو یہ تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے اور وہ تمہارے کچھ گناہوں کا کفارہ دے گا اللہ وہ ہے جس سے تم آگاہ ہو۔

20. if ye disclose the alms, even so it is well, and if ye hide them and give them unto the poor, it will be better for you and he will expiate some of your misdeeds allah is of that which ye work aware.
