10. برزِلّی ایک بہت بوڑھا آدمی تھا، اسّی برس کا تھا، اُس نے بادشاہ کو کھانا فراہم کیا تھا جب وہ مہنائم میں تھا۔ کیونکہ وہ بہت بڑا آدمی تھا۔

15. اور سامریہ میں بڑا قحط پڑا۔ اور دیکھو، اُنہوں نے اُس کا محاصرہ کر لیا، یہاں تک کہ ایک گدھے کا سر چاندی کے اسّی سِکوں میں اور چوتھائی کبوتر کا گوبر چاندی کے پانچ سِکوں میں بیچا گیا۔

15. and there was a great famine in samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

16. اور سامریہ میں بڑا قحط پڑا۔ اور دیکھو، اُنہوں نے اُس کا محاصرہ کر لیا، یہاں تک کہ ایک گدھے کا سر چاندی کے اسّی سِکوں میں اور چوتھائی کبوتر کا گوبر چاندی کے پانچ سِکوں میں بیچا گیا۔

17. and asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of judah three hundred thousand; and out of benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

18. آج میری عمر اسی سال ہے: اور کیا میں اچھائی اور برائی کی تمیز کر سکتا ہوں؟ کیا تیرا بندہ چکھ سکتا ہے جو میں کھاتا ہوں یا پیتا ہوں؟ کیا میں مردوں کے گانے اور عورتوں کی گانے کی آوازیں زیادہ سن سکتا ہوں؟ تو پھر تیرا خادم میرے آقا بادشاہ پر کیوں بوجھ بنے گا؟

18. i am this day fourscore years old: and can i discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what i eat or what i drink? can i hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king?
