1. یہ آسمان سے ایک نعمت ہے۔

1. it is a blessing vouchsafed him by heaven

2. اس نے اب مجھے معلومات کی تصدیق کی: "معلومات میونخ سے آئی ہیں۔"

2. She now vouchsafed to me the information: “The information came from Munich.”

3. اور ہم یقیناً یہ کتاب موسیٰ کو دے رہے ہیں، تاکہ شاید وہ رہنمائی کر سکیں۔

3. and assuredly we vouchsafed unto musa the book, that haply they may be guided.

4. اور یقیناً ہم نے ابراہیم کو ماضی میں ان کی نیکی عطا کی تھی اور ہم انہیں جانتے تھے۔

4. and assuredly we vouchsafed un to lbrahim his rectitude aforetime, and him we had ever known.

5. اور ہم نے اسے دنیا میں بھی بھلائی دی اور آخرت میں وہ نیک لوگوں میں سے ہو گا۔

5. and we vouchsafed unto him good in this world, and in the hereafter he shall be of the righteous.

6. اور جن کے پاس ثبوت آنے کے بعد ہی تقسیم شدہ کتاب دی جاتی ہے۔

6. and those who are vouchsafed the book divided not save after there had come unto them the evidence.

7. اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی اور اس کے بھائی ہارون کو وزیر مقرر کیا۔

7. and assuredly we vouchsafed unto musa the book and we placed with him his brother harun as a minister.

8. اس لیے اللہ نے انہیں دنیا کا ثواب اور آخرت کا بہترین اجر عطا کیا۔ اور اللہ احسان کرنے والے کو پسند کرتا ہے۔

8. wherefore allah vouchsafed unto them the reward of the world, and the excellent reward of the hereafter. and allah loveth the well-doer.

9. کہو: تم مانو یا نہ مانو، جن لوگوں کو اس سے پہلے علم دیا گیا تھا، جب انہیں پڑھ کر سنایا جاتا ہے تو وہ ٹھوڑی کے بل سجدے میں گر جاتے ہیں۔

9. say thou: whether ye believe it or believe it not, verily those who were vouchsafed knowledge before it, when it is recited unto them, fall down on their chins, prostrating.

10. اور تمہارا رب آسمانوں اور زمین والوں کو خوب جانتا ہے۔ اور ہم نے بعض انبیاء کو بعض پر فضیلت دی ہے اور ہم نے ان کو صحیفہ دیا ہے۔

10. and thine lord is the best knower of those who are in the heavens and the earth. and assuredly we have preferred some prophets over some others: and we vouchsafed unto daud a scripture.

11. پھر ہم موسیٰ کو اس شخص کے لیے کامل کتاب دیتے ہیں جو نیکی کرتا ہے اور ہر چیز کی تفصیل اور رہنمائی اور رحمت ہے کہ شاید وہ اپنے رب سے مل کر ایمان لے آئیں۔

11. then unto musa we vouchsafed the book perfect for him who would do well and detailing every thing and a guidance and a mercy, that haply in the meeting of their lord they would believe.

12. اور جو کچھ تمہیں عطا کیا گیا ہے وہ دنیا کی زندگی کا سامان اور اس کی زینت ہے۔ اور جو اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ بہتر اور باقی رہنے والا ہے۔ کیا آپ نہیں سوچیں گے؟

12. and whatsoever ye are vouchsafed is an enjoyment of the life of the world and an adornment thereof; and that which is with allah is better and more lasting. will ye not therefore reflect?

13. تو ہم نے اسے جواب دیا، اور جو کچھ اس کے ساتھ تھا اس سے چھین لیا، اور اسے اس کا گھر اور اس کے ساتھی ان کے ساتھ دے دیے، ہماری طرف سے رحمت اور عبادت گزاروں کی یاد کے لیے۔

13. so we answered him and we removed that which was with him of the hurt, and we vouchsafed unto him his household and the like thereof along with them, as a mercy from us and a remembrance unto the worshippers.

14. اور ہم اسے حق اور یعقوب عطا کرتے ہیں، اور ہم ان کی نسل میں نبوت اور کتاب کو جگہ دیتے ہیں، اور ہم اسے دنیا میں اس کی اجرت دیتے ہیں، اور یقیناً وہ آخرت میں نیک لوگوں میں سے ہو گا۔

14. and we bestowed on him is-haq and y'aqub, and we placed among his posterity prophethood and the book, and we vouchsafed unto him his hire in the world, and verily in the hereafter he shall be of the righteous.

15. اور اس نے کتاب کو بحفاظت موسیٰ کے پاس پہنچا دیا اور اس پر جھگڑا ہو گیا۔ اور اگر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے کوئی بات پہلے نہ ہوتی تو ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا۔ اور حقیقت میں وہ شکوک و شبہات کے بارے میں ہیں۔

15. and assuredly vouchsafed unto musa the book, and disputation arose thereabout; and had not a word preceded from thy lord, it would have been decreed between them. and verily they are concerning that in doubt disquieting.

16. اور اس نے کتاب کو بحفاظت موسیٰ کے حوالے کر دیا اور اس پر جھگڑا ہو گیا۔ اور اگر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے کوئی بات پہلے نہ ہوتی تو ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا۔ اور حقیقت میں وہ شکوک و شبہات کے بارے میں ہیں۔

16. and assuredly vouchsafed unto musa the book, and disputation arose thereabout; and had not a word preceded from thy lord, it would have been decreed between them. and verily they are concerning that in doubt disquieting.

17. ان میں ایسے بھی ہیں جو آپ کی بات سنتے ہیں، یہاں تک کہ آپ کے سامنے سے نکل کر علم حاصل کرنے والوں سے کہتے ہیں کہ اس نے ابھی کیا کہا؟ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں پر اللہ نے مہر لگا دی ہے اور وہ اس کی خواہشات کی پیروی کرتے ہیں۔

17. of them are some who listen to thee, until, when they go forth from before thee, they say unto those who have been vouchsafed knowledge, what is that he hath said just now? those are they whose hearts allah hath sealed up and they follow their lusts.

18. اور یاد کرو جب اللہ نے ان لوگوں سے فرض لیا جن کو کتاب دی گئی تھی، تم اسے ضرور لوگوں کے سامنے ظاہر کرو گے اور اسے چھپاؤ گے نہیں۔ جس کے بعد انہوں نے اسے اپنی پیٹھ کے پیچھے پھینک دیا اور تھوڑی قیمت پر اس کا سودا کیا۔ ناپاک ہے جس کے لئے انہوں نے سودا کیا۔

18. and recall what time allah took a bond from those who were vouchsafed the book: ye shall surely expound it to the people and ye shall hide it not; whereafter they cast it behind their backs, and bartered it for a small price. vile is that wherewith they have bartered.

19. پھر انہوں نے اللہ کے حکم سے ان کو شکست دی، اور داؤد نے جالوت کو قتل کر دیا، اور اللہ نے اسے حکومت اور حکمت عطا کی اور اسے سکھایا جو وہ چاہتا تھا۔ اور، اس وجہ سے نہیں کہ اللہ نے لوگوں کو جھٹلایا، ان میں سے بعض کو بعض کے ذریعے، یقیناً زمین میں فساد برپا تھا۔ لیکن اللہ تمام جہانوں پر مہربان ہے۔

19. then they vanquished them by the leave of allah, and da'ud slew jalut, and allah vouchsafed him dominion, and wisdom and taught him of that which he willed. and, it not for allah's repelling people, some of them by means of others, the earth surely were corrupted; but allah is gracious unto the worlds.

20. اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی آتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اس وقت تک ایمان نہیں لائیں گے جب تک ہمیں وہی چیز نہ دی جائے جو اللہ کے رسولوں کو دی گئی تھی۔ اللہ ہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اپنے رسول کو کہاں رکھنا ہے۔ عنقریب یہ ان لوگوں پر پڑیں گے جنہوں نے اللہ کے نزدیک ایک ناکردہ گناہ کیا ہے اور ان کی چالوں کی وجہ سے سخت عذاب ہوگا۔

20. and whensoever there cometh unto them a sign, they say: we shall not believe until we are vouchsafed the like of that which is vouchsafed unto the apostles of allah. allah knoweth best wheresoever to place his apostleship. anon shall befall those who have sinned vileness before allah and severe chastisement for that which they were wont to plot.
