13. (vii) subject to the provisions of sub-section(2), the amount of any bad debt or part thereof which is written off as irrecoverable in the accounts of the assessee for the previous year:.

14. where an officer takes down any information in writing under sub-section(1) or records grounds for his belief under the proviso, he shall within seventy two hours send a copy thereof to his immediate official superior.

16. (2) notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section(1), the accumulated loss shall not be set off or carried forward and the unabsorbed depreciation shall not be allowed in the assessment of the amalgamated company unless-.

19. (3) where the new asset is sold or otherwise transferred in connection with the amalgamation or demerger within a period of five years from the date of its installation, the provisions of sub-section(2) shall apply to the amalgamated company or the resulting company, as the case may be, as they would have applied to the amalgamating company or the demerged company.
