1. "ਹੇ ਭਿਖੂ, ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੋ,

1. "Go forth,O Bhikkhus,for the good of many,

2. ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਭੀਖੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘ, ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਇਹ ਸਭਾ।

2. Such is this Sangha of Bhikkhus, such is this assembly.

3. ਅਤੇ, ਭੀਖੂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਖਾਈਆਂ?

3. And why, bhikkhus, have I not taught those many things?

4. ਦੂਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਭੀਖੂ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੇ।

4. for a second and a third time the bhikkhus were silent.

5. ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੀਖੂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਨੇਰ ਇੱਥੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ।

5. All of you bhikkhus and samaneras here want peace, every one of you.

6. ਹੁਣ, ਹੇ ਭਿਖੂ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?'

6. Now, O Bhikkhus, is it possible that such a time might come as is said?'

7. ਪੂਜਨੀਕ ਸਾਰਿਪੁੱਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੀਖੂ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਏ।
