7. پھر، جب بھی ہم ان سے وبا کو دور کرتے ہیں، یہاں تک کہ جب وہ آنے والے تھے، دیکھو! وہ ایمان کو توڑ رہے تھے.

7. then whensoever we removed the plague from them, till a term which they were to reach, lo! they were breaking faith.

8. جب سب لوگ آپ کے بارے میں اچھا کہتے ہیں، کیونکہ، آپ کے باپ دادا نے جھوٹے نبیوں کے ساتھ وہی کچھ کیا تھا.

8. whensoever all men shall, speak well of you, for, according to the same things, were their fathers doing unto the false prophets.

9. اور اس کی نشانیوں میں سے آسمانوں اور زمین اور چلنے پھرنے والے جانداروں کی تخلیق ہے جنہیں اس نے دو حصوں میں تقسیم کر دیا۔ اور جب بھی وہ طاقتور ہوتا ہے وہ تمہارے اجتماع کے لیے ہوتا ہے۔

9. and of his signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and of the moving creatures which he hath dispersed in the twain. and he is for their assembling whensoever he will potent.

10. جو لوگ نافرمان ہیں ان کا ٹھکانہ جہنم ہے۔ جب بھی وہ اس سے بچنا چاہتے تھے، انہیں واپس لایا جاتا تھا اور ان سے کہا جاتا تھا: ’’اس آگ کے عذاب کا مزہ چکھو جسے تم نے جھوٹ کہا‘‘۔

10. as for those who disobey, their abode is hell. whensoever they wish to escape from it they would be dragged back into it, and told:"taste the torment of the fire which you used to call a lie.

11. اور ہم نے بنی اسرائیل سے عہد باندھا اور ان کے پاس رسول بھیجے۔ جب بھی کوئی رسول ان کے پاس کوئی ایسی چیز لے کر آتا جو ان کے دل نہ چاہتے تھے تو وہ کسی پر جھوٹ بولتے اور کسی کو قتل کرتے۔

11. and we took compact with the children of israel, and we sent messengers to them. whensoever there came to them a messenger with that their souls had not desire for, some they cried lies to, and some they slew.

12. بجلی نے ان کی بینائی تقریباً چھین لی تھی۔ جیسے ہی وہ انہیں روشنی دیتا ہے، وہ اس میں چلتے ہیں، اور جب اندھیرا ان پر چھا جاتا ہے تو وہ رک جاتے ہیں۔ اگر خدا چاہتا تو ان کی سماعت اور بینائی چھین لیتا۔ بے شک اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔

12. the lightning wellnigh snatches away their sight; whensoever it gives them light, they walk in it, and when the darkness is over them, they halt; had god willed, he would have taken away their hearing and their sight. truly, god is powerful over everything.

13. اور جب بھی ان پر طاعون نازل ہوا تو وہ کہتے: اے موسی! ہمارے لیے اپنے رب سے درخواست کرو، جو اس نے تمہارے ساتھ کیا ہے۔ یقیناً اگر آپ ہم سے وبا کو دور کر دیں تو ہم آپ پر ضرور ایمان لائیں گے اور بنی اسرائیل کو آپ کے ساتھ بھیج دیں گے۔

13. and whensoever a plague fell on them, they said: o musa! supplicate thy lord for us, by that which he hath covenanted with thee; surely if thou remove the plague from us we will surely believe in thee, and we will send away with thee the children of israi'l.

14. آپ کو اس کتاب میں حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ جب بھی آپ خدا کے پیغامات کی تردید یا ان کا مذاق اڑاتے ہوئے سنیں تو اس وقت تک اس صحبت میں نہ بیٹھیں جب تک کہ وہ دوسری چیزوں کے بارے میں بات نہ کرنے لگیں ورنہ آپ ان سے مختلف نہ ہوں گے۔ درحقیقت خدا منافقوں اور کافروں کو جہنم میں اکٹھا کرے گا۔

14. you have been commanded in the book that whensoever you hear god's messages denied or derided, do not sit in that company until they begin talking of other things, or you will be no different from them. indeed god will put the hypocrites and infidels together in hell.

15. جس کو خدا ہدایت دیتا ہے وہ ہدایت یافتہ ہے۔ اور جن کو وہ گمراہ کرتا ہے تم ان کے لیے اس کے سوا کوئی حمایتی نہ پاؤ گے۔ اور ہم انہیں قیامت کے دن ان کے منہ کے بل اندھے، گونگے، بہرے جمع کریں گے۔ ان کی پناہ گاہ جہنم ہو گی اور جب وہ کم ہو جائے گی تو ہم ان کے لیے آگ بڑھا دیں گے۔

15. whomsoever god guides, he is rightly guided; and whom he leads astray-- thou wilt not find for them protectors, apart from him. and we shall muster them on the resurrection day upon their faces, blind, dumb, deaf; their refuge shall be gehenna, and whensoever it abates we shall increase for them the blaze.

16. اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی اور ان کے بعد ہم نے پیغمبر بھیجے۔ اور ہم نے عیسیٰ ابن مریم کو واضح نشانیاں دیں، اور ہم نے روح القدس سے اس کی تصدیق کی۔ اور جب بھی کوئی رسول تمہارے پاس ایسی چیز لے کر آتا ہے جس کی تمھاری خواہش نہ تھی تو کیا تم تکبر کرتے ہو اور تم میں سے کوئی جھوٹ بولتا ہے اور کوئی قتل کرتا ہے؟

16. and we gave to moses the book, and after him sent succeeding messengers; and we gave jesus son of mary the clear signs, and confirmed him with the holy spirit; and whensoever there came to you a messenger with that your souls had not desire for, did you become arrogant, and some cry lies to, and some slay?

17. اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی آتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اس وقت تک ایمان نہیں لائیں گے جب تک ہمیں وہی چیز نہ دی جائے جو اللہ کے رسولوں کو دی گئی تھی۔ اللہ ہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اپنے رسول کو کہاں رکھنا ہے۔ عنقریب یہ ان لوگوں پر پڑیں گے جنہوں نے اللہ کے نزدیک ایک ناکردہ گناہ کیا ہے اور ان کی چالوں کی وجہ سے سخت عذاب ہوگا۔

17. and whensoever there cometh unto them a sign, they say: we shall not believe until we are vouchsafed the like of that which is vouchsafed unto the apostles of allah. allah knoweth best wheresoever to place his apostleship. anon shall befall those who have sinned vileness before allah and severe chastisement for that which they were wont to plot.
