11. and we took compact with the children of israel, and we sent messengers to them. whensoever there came to them a messenger with that their souls had not desire for, some they cried lies to, and some they slew.

12. the lightning wellnigh snatches away their sight; whensoever it gives them light, they walk in it, and when the darkness is over them, they halt; had god willed, he would have taken away their hearing and their sight. truly, god is powerful over everything.

13. আর যখনই তাদের উপর মহামারী পড়ল, তারা বললঃ হে মূসা! আমাদের জন্য আপনার প্রভুর কাছে আবেদন করুন, তিনি আপনার সাথে যা করেছেন তার জন্য; আপনি যদি আমাদের থেকে মহামারী দূর করে দেন, তবে আমরা অবশ্যই আপনার প্রতি ঈমান আনব এবং আপনার সাথে বনী ইসরাঈলদের পাঠাব।

13. and whensoever a plague fell on them, they said: o musa! supplicate thy lord for us, by that which he hath covenanted with thee; surely if thou remove the plague from us we will surely believe in thee, and we will send away with thee the children of israi'l.

15. আল্লাহ যাকে সৎপথে পরিচালিত করেন সে সুপথপ্রাপ্ত হয়। আর তিনি যাদেরকে পথভ্রষ্ট করেন, আপনি তাদের জন্য তিনি ব্যতীত কোন অভিভাবক পাবেন না। এবং আমরা কিয়ামতের দিন তাদের মুখের উপর একত্রিত করব, অন্ধ, বোবা, বধির। তাদের আশ্রয়স্থল হবে গেহেনা, এবং যখন তা কমে যাবে, তখন আমরা তাদের জন্য আগুন বাড়িয়ে দেব।

15. whomsoever god guides, he is rightly guided; and whom he leads astray-- thou wilt not find for them protectors, apart from him. and we shall muster them on the resurrection day upon their faces, blind, dumb, deaf; their refuge shall be gehenna, and whensoever it abates we shall increase for them the blaze.

16. এবং আমরা মূসাকে কিতাব দিয়েছিলাম এবং তার পরে উত্তরসূরী প্রেরণ করেছি। এবং আমরা মেরির পুত্র যীশুকে সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শনগুলি দিয়েছিলাম এবং আমরা পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা তা নিশ্চিত করেছি৷ আর যখনই কোন রসূল তোমাদের কাছে এমন কিছু নিয়ে আসে যা তোমাদের আত্মা চায় না, তখন কি তোমরা অহংকারী হয়ে পড়ে এবং তোমাদের কেউ মিথ্যা বলে এবং তোমাদের কেউ হত্যা করে?

16. and we gave to moses the book, and after him sent succeeding messengers; and we gave jesus son of mary the clear signs, and confirmed him with the holy spirit; and whensoever there came to you a messenger with that your souls had not desire for, did you become arrogant, and some cry lies to, and some slay?

17. আর যখনই তাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন আসে, তখন তারা বলে, আমরা ঈমান আনব না যতক্ষণ না আমরা আল্লাহর রসূলদেরকে সেই জিনিসই দান করি। আল্লাহই ভালো জানেন তার রসূলকে কোথায় রাখবেন। শীঘ্রই তারা তাদের উপর পতিত হবে যারা আল্লাহর সামনে একটি অপ্রীতিকর পাপ করেছে এবং তারা যা ষড়যন্ত্র করত তার জন্য কঠিন শাস্তি।

17. and whensoever there cometh unto them a sign, they say: we shall not believe until we are vouchsafed the like of that which is vouchsafed unto the apostles of allah. allah knoweth best wheresoever to place his apostleship. anon shall befall those who have sinned vileness before allah and severe chastisement for that which they were wont to plot.
